More than 200 people attended ULI Indiana’s signature event, “Real Estate Trends in Central Indiana: Great Place to Live, Great Place to Invest” at the Columbia Club Nov. 21, 2016.
The event started with breakout sessions with local speakers, followed by the keynote address. The breakout sessions consisted of the following panels:
- “Where We Live: Residential development,” featuring moderator Mayor Scott Fadness, City of Fishers and panelists John C. Hart, Jr., President, J.C. Hart; Kelli Lawrence, partner, Cityscape Residential; and Eric Strickland, executive director, Riley Area Development Corporation
- “Where We Work – Challenges and opportunities in our workforce and the office and industrial sectors,” featuring moderator Mayor Tom DeBaun, City of Shelbyville and panelists Matt Cohoat, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Becknell Industrial; Katie Culp, partner, Katz, Sapper & Miller; and Richard Horn, president, Strategic Capital Partners.
- “Where We Spend Our Time and Money – Retail, public, and mixed use development featuring moderator and panelists Eric Gershman, principal, Gershman Partners; Jacque Haynes, executive vice president, Cushman & Wakefield; and Ersal Ozdemir, president and CEO, Keystone Construction and Keystone Realty Group
The keynote speaker, Mitch Roschelle, partner at PwC, New York, and co-chair of the 38th annual ULI and PwC report, “Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2017,” provided an overview of the report and its major trends—along with heavy doses of humor and personal anecdotes.
