Bonus Online Breakfast Series – Equitable Transit-oriented Development!

Earlier this year, our Breakfast Series programs focused on topics relevant to Indianapolis’ participation the American Cities Climate Challenge, a Bloomberg Philanthropies program designed to accelerate efforts to tackle climate change and promote a sustainable future for residents of 25 cities. On June 24, we’ll continue the conversation with a bonus conversation about equitable transit-oriented development (ETOD).

    Speakers will discuss:
    • initiatives like ETOD funds to sustain affordable/workforce housing along transit lines
    • Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership’s ETOD fund
    • the impact of Denver’s ETOD fund, upon which Indy’s was based
    • how to leverage the ETOD and implement its goals
    Our speakers include:
    • Charlie Mercer, Director of Commercial Lending, Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership: Charlie is responsible for underwriting new commercial and community loan requests and fostering commercial and community lending opportunities which correspond with and fulfill the mission of INHP. He joined INHP in 2016 having worked in lending for over 20 years with a primary focus in commercial real estate and construction lending. Mercer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Indiana University.
    • Erin Clark, Vice President of Master Site Development, Urban Land Conservancy (Denver): Erin leads efforts to create long term community benefits on large, multi-phased and multi-use sites throughout the Denver metro area, particularly in transit-oriented development areas. She joined the Urban Land Conservancy in 2018 having previously held roles with the Lowry Redevelopment Authority and Lowry Community Land Trust (Colorado); the City of Pasadena, CA, as a planner in both long-range planning and economic development; and as a transactional a real estate attorney and land use consultant in Denver.
