The following speakers will participate in ULI Indiana’s members-only Insights for Insiders program taking place June 5.
Moderator
Brad Vogelsmeier, Vice President of Development, Milhaus
At Milhaus, Brad leads all company development activities throughout Indiana along with Milhaus’ National JV Partnership Platform. Since joining Milhaus in 2015, Brad has led the development of more than 1,500 units and $250 million of mixed-use, multi-family, and for-sale residential real estate in Indianapolis and Kansas City. Brad has a passion for urban and community redevelopment and has previous economic development and real estate experience in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. He sits on the Board for the Virginia Ave EID in Indy and is on ULI’s National Small-Scale Development Product Council. Brad has his undergraduate degree from Butler and his Master in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan.

Matt Griffin, Chief Operating Officer, The Garrett Companies
Matt manages the day to day operations of The Garrett Companies. Matt has worked in the multifamily development industry for over 14 years and brings a comprehensive skill set that includes entitlements, market economic analysis, physical design, development process management and marketing. Matt has played a managing role in over $400 million dollars of completed projects ranging from suburban greenfield developments to urban infill mixed use campuses.
Kelli Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer, Onyx + East
As CEO, Lawrence leads the development of the strategic vision for Onyx + East. She is focused on expanding the reach and breadth of Onyx + East within Indiana, Florida and beyond to new markets as well as driving innovation, culture, and execution within the organization. Prior to joining Onyx + East, Lawrence served as a partner in multiple full-service development and construction firms specializing in institutional quality multi-family communities throughout the Midwest, helping to grow those companies project portfolios and market reach. Lawrence has been involved in the development of approximately 4,500 multi-family, for-sale, and rental residential units, valued at more than $750 million, in numerous markets across the Midwest. Lawrence started her career in the public sector, where she served as the Long-Range Planner for the city of Carmel, Indiana. Lawrence graduated with a Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development from Ball State University, with a double major in economics. Subsequently, she achieved a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, majoring in marketing. She has been a volunteer leader in numerous organizations including serving as Chair for the Indiana District Council of the Urban Land Institute, Chair of the Riley Children’s Foundation Riley Society Board, and is currently serving as the Chair of the Ball State University Alumni Council.
Ty Rinehart, Land Acquisition Manager, Lennar
Ty grew up in the residential development and construction industry working in the family business located in north central Indiana. Since graduating for Indiana University in 1990, Ty has continued his work in residential construction industry acquiring and developing several thousand home-sites in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas for local homebuilders. In his role as Land Acquisition Manager for Lennar Homes, Ty’s responsibilities include the identification and acquisition of properties for potential residential development and working with local municipalities and elected officials to obtain the necessary zoning approvals. Lennar Homes, formerly Ryland Homes, is a publicly traded homebuilder and one of the largest in Central Indiana, building over 1,000 homes last year and over 50,000 nationally.
