ULI Indiana’s signature annual event, “Real Estate Trends 2019,” taking place Thursday, Jan. 24, features a keynote presentation by Mitch Roschelle, Partner and Business Development Leader, PwC. ULI Indiana asked him a few questions about trends and what he’s looking forward to about our event.
What can attendees look forward to learning about the emerging trends research this year?
This edition of Emerging Trends in Real Estate marks the 40th anniversary of the publication. In recognition of four decades of taking the pulse of the industry, we will explore how the market has evolved and what it means for the future.
What are you looking forward to as you visit Indianapolis next month?
I had a blast two years ago when I last spoke in Indy, and I’m excited to be so warmly welcomed back. The crowd was engaging and represented the Who’s Who in the local real estate market. It is an honor to be able to address this group again.
From your perspective, what is the biggest issue facing real estate today?
While there seem to be endless worries that are weighing on stocks and bonds, it is times like these that investors rotate towards “hard assets.” And better yet, real estate is a hard asset that generates cash. Our economy is fundamentally strong, and the success of real estate is tied to the success of the economy. Bottom line—these are interesting times.
