ULI Indiana sponsors recognized at Real Estate Trends event

Sponsorship chair Samantha Hargitt, Wooden McLaughlin, acknowledges new sponsors.

At Large board member, Shawn Bullock, Associated Bank, recognizes multi-year sponsors.

At ULI Indiana’s signature event Nov. 14, 2017, “Real Estate Trends 2018: Get Ready for What’s Next,” the district council celebrated its 10th anniversary by honoring companies who have supported ULI Indiana with sponsorships. Forty-five sponsors contributed to ULI Indiana during the 2017 fiscal year, and of those 45 sponsors, 30 have supported the district council for multiple years.

To the multi-year sponsors, ULI Indiana gave gifts of appreciation, themed around an issue that the district council will cover in 2018—parks and open space. Several initiatives connected to ULI led ULI Indiana to choose this as a theme for 2018.

  • The Urban Land Institute signed an agreement with the Trust for Public Land, the National Recreation and Parks Association and 127 of the nation’s most influential mayors, supporting the idea that every American should live within a 10-minute walk of a park.
  • In September of 2018, the National Recreation and Parks Association will host its national convention in Indianapolis.
  • In 2017, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett implemented the “It’s My City” clean-up campaign, reminding us that it was Mayor Bill Hudnut, a former ULI Fellow, who first challenged Indianapolis residents to “put litter in its place,” by displaying his infamous “Hudnut Hook.”

Sponsors’ gift packages were compiled according to history, with items including picnic packs, ULI-branded picnic blankets and bottles of wine. In honor of ULI Indiana’s Founding Platinum Sponsor, Katz Sapper and Miller, the district council made a $2,000 donation to the Indianapolis Parks Foundation. The donation was directed to Indy Urban Acres, an organic farm on Indy’s East side that donates produce to local food pantries in a partnership with Gleaner’s Food Bank.

In addition to honoring the multi-year sponsors, ULI Indiana recognized first-year sponsors and sponsors of Real Estate Trends 2018.

Programs co-chair Josh Malarsky, Katz Sapper and Miller, says a few words on behalf of KSM.
