Can you help us identify community members, innovators, and entrepreneurs who might have creative ideas for solving Indy’s transportation needs—and who’d be interested in competing for $100,000 to pilot those ideas?
The City of Indianapolis, with support from Central Indiana Community Foundation, Cummins, IndyGo, Indy Chamber, and others, has partnered with Ford Motor Company on the Indianapolis City:One Challenge, a chance to pilot innovative ideas to solve mobility and transportation issues in our community.
Winning proposals could share up to $100,000 to test or deploy innovative solutions to Indy’s mobility needs in four Opportunity Areas: 1) increase reliable access; 2) expand affordable transportation choices; 3) support residents with disabilities or other mobility challenges; and 4) create comfortable journeys for families using these options.
Sept. 17, 2019 is the deadline for submitting proposals. You can find all the details about the Challenge at its website: https://challenges.cityoftomorrow.com/indianapolis
Twelve finalists will be chosen from the submitted proposals. Each finalist will receive $2,500 and the chance to work with a mentor to refine their proposals over the course of six weeks. In addition, all finalists will have their applications reviewed by the Ford Fund and by Ford X, Ford’s incubator.
The finalists will then present their refined ideas to the Steering Committee in early November 2019; up to two winning ideas will be selected to receive pilot funding. The winner(s) will also have the chance to pitch their idea(s) to the Ford Fund and/or Ford X.
