The environments people live in have a dramatic effect on their health and wellbeing. In Indianapolis, transformative projects and initiatives are underway that are designed to address this dynamic and improve the outcomes for their communities.

In the 38th Street and Sheridan Avenue area, Cook Medical has built a $15 million device manufacturing facility that engages and employs neighborhood residents and a grocery store that improves food access. That boost to the northeast Indy community will continue with the Sankofa Access Zone, an initiative designed to help the neighborhood deal with long-standing challenges.

In downtown Indianapolis, IU Health is building a $4.3 billion medical campus expansion, as well as investing millions in community health initiatives and new models of care. This includes coordination with IU Health’s government, nonprofit, neighborhood and education partners for health-related developments that allow IU Health to address the key social impediments to good health.

Join ULI Indiana for our May 18 Breakfast Series, where representatives from Cook Medical and IU Health will share updates on these projects and initiatives and how real estate developments can make a positive impact on the health of surrounding communities. We'll hear from:
