Timing coincides with Oct. 24 program, “Beyond Bias: Strategies for Inclusive Behavior”
Earlier this year, the Indiana district council of the Urban Land Institute was one of four district councils awarded a real estate diversity initiative grant from ULI and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The grant helps fund ULI Indiana’s new Diversity Initiative, a 15-week curriculum that will prepare participants for real estate development opportunities in Indiana.
ULI Indiana will begin distributing applications for up to 30 Scholars on Oct. 24 and is need of Session Sponsors, Instructors, Advisors, and additional Steering Committee members to help shape the curriculum for the program, which begins in February of 2020. Scholar applications are due Dec. 6.
Interested participants can find the Interest Form and more program details on the ULI Indiana website at indiana.uli.org/diversity.
In line with the launch of the Diversity Initiative, ULI Indiana’s Oct. 24 Breakfast Series program, “Beyond Bias: Strategies for Inclusive Behavior,” will address diversity and inclusion. The speaker, Amy C. Waninger, founder and chief executive officer of Lead at Any Level LLC, will help attendees understand the role unconscious bias plays in everyday decision-making, recognize how they may be engaging in and affected by affinity bias, identify inclusive behaviors and effective networking strategies, and assess the breadth and depth of their professional network. Registration information is available at https://indiana.uli.org, and the event is open to both members and non-members of ULI.
